The Intentional Word of God

Scripture Text > “And the Word became flesh and dwell among us, and we have seen His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

Definitions **Intentional** — doing something on purpose, deliberately, and with a clear aim or design.

Intentional Word — Approaching Scripture with a focused plan to read, study, memorize, listen, learn, and change.

Intentional Godly Living — Making daily choices that align directly with the Word of God.

The intentional Word of God means engaging with the Bible and God’s voice on purpose. It is not a random or passive habit. It means setting aside time to read, study, memorize, listen, learn, and obey what God says to guide your daily life.

Discussion: Why is this such a struggle for most Christians?

Key Parts of Intentional Scripture Study **FOCUSED READING:** Set aside set times to read the Bible instead of rushing through.

DEEP THINKING: Ponder (meditate, think) what the text means and how it applies to your life.

CLEAR ACTION: Do what the verses teach rather than only reading them.

> “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15 KJV)

“Study to show yourself approved unto God” means diligently applying yourself to understand and rightly handle the Word of God, becoming a faithful and unashamed worker in His service.

Discussion Question What work does this Scripture encourage us to do? How important is that work?
